Come sing and play with words, rhyme and puppets at baby lapsit time. Parents can network while babies pick up phonological awareness, one of six foundations of future reading success. This informal program for babies and their parents/caregivers runs about 20 minutes and introduces the pleasures of the library to your baby or toddler. Ages 0-2 with an adult.

Led by Alan Feldman, Professor Emeritus at Framingham State University This drop-in class welcomes serious poets of all ages and levels of experience who would like to participate for one or more sessions. We begin with a discussion of a topic in poetry leading to a brief in-class assignment. Poets who wish to have their work discussed should bring copies.

The first hour of our Jazz Show & Jam is a concert featuring a host band which varies each week. It includes some of the finest musicians from the area and often featuring great players from NYC and beyond. After the first hour, we open it up to the jammers who get the opportunity to sit in and hone their skills, trading licks with some of the finest players in the area. Some of the best jazz can be heard here any Tuesday night! Come watch or play!! About the Jam: The jam balances high level playing with a spirit of welcome and community. Five host bands take turns making your visit to the jam a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Each week a different group and each week a different feel. Here you can hone your skills and trade lick’s with some of the finest players in the area. Whether you’re a pro or a student, you’ll have a great time.
