Join us at Jack’s Abby Brewery in Framingham for food, a beer and a thought provoking discussion with local experts about their work in the natural world. The first few dates are set, but we’re still confirming our speakers, so check our website and the Broadmoor E-News for the latest. October 24: Fantastic Feathers: Form and Function When we think of birds, we think of feathers. Feathers give birds their color, keep them warm and dry, form the aerodynamic shape of the wing and can even control sound. Learn how the microscopic structure of duck feathers makes them water repellent and how the structure of owl facial feathers focuses sound towards their ears, allowing them to hunt in total darkness. Additional dates: November 28 & December 12 Mass Audubon’s Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary and Conservation Science Department host this informal series. This event is also co-sponsored by Jack's Abby.
